It gives a true bounce and feel. I use it in my office and practice my timpani at home. It is rapidly helping my timpani rolls and technique

Rubber material. Ideal for practicing timpani. It took about 10 days by international shipping. Satisfactory delivery and quality.

Very good pad - silent,with nice rebound. Works very well with hard sticks for me - but my colleagues also use it with softer timpani mallets. If you have extra 115$ - buy it with no regret!

As a professional Timpanist I had never found a practice pad that approximated the feel and response of a timpani head. That is, until now. I just received my A. Stubbs pad and am very happy with it. It will do a great job keeping my hands in shape during time off, and also for warming up before rehearsals and performances. It is very well made and should last a long time.

Great pad for warming up prior to rehearsal or concert. I really like the feel - response is very similar to timpani head. Much better for warming up than using a regular rubber practice pad as there's minimal rebound on the stroke.

This pad simulates the head response of a timpano drum very well. The stick bounce is obviously very important in refining your stick control. This pad lets you work on your skill and also lets you work on patterns of pieces you want to gain confidence with for performances. Its very portable for practice convenience where ever you'd like. Very nice item. It feels like a real timpani head and is good for practicing my rolls. It is a small enough size to travel in a tote bag, and the wood frame is beautifully made.
