Junctures by Ted Piltzecker if a piece for 7 member percussion ensemble plus piano. This sophisticated and melodic work features the vibraphone as it journeys through many moods ranging from subtle implications to ardent declarations. The piece reflects how lives can be separated into episodes that are linked to each other, and to the past, by character and outlook. Junctures dedicated to the memory of Elliot Morganstern and was commissioned by his son Daniel. Duration: 13 minutes

Vibraphone (4 mallets)

Percussion 1: 5 octave marimba (4 mallets), woodblock

Percussion 2: whirling hose (F), temple blocks, piccolo snare, suspended cymbal, tom tom, hi-hat, woodblock, 2 break drums

Percussion 3: whirling hose (D), piccolo snare, small triangle, Chinese cymbal, large triangle

Percussion 4: whirling hose (C), xylophone, vibraslap, roto toms, bells, small traingle, large triangle

Percussion 5: whirling hose (Ab), crotales, tom toms, large can, small can, sandpaper blocks,
wind chimes, bass drum

Percussion 6: whirling hose (G), tuned gongs, cabasa, bongos, surdo, bass drum
