Komljenovic-4 Sale (SP)-2M/bongos

Commissioned by the Belgrade Philharmonic Percussion Duo and dedicated to a dear friend, Aleksandar Sale Radulovic, this piece explores the exciting musical elements which remind me of Sale - odd meters, melisma, melodies rooted in octatonic and Spanish Gypsy scales, and a variety of grooves. Sale is known for his fun and physically expressive stage personality, and I wanted the music to allow him to showcase his character by incorporating stomping, stick clicks, virtuosic passages, and a free improvisation section.
