Good product at a good price
I really wasn't expecting much for the price, but these brushes are pretty nice! I play in bands that require the use of brushes often, including bluegrassy-type "train beats" and low-volume gigs. These brushes are sturdy and have held up well on the few shows I've used them on so far. Definitely worth a try, even just for a backup pair!
These are good quality brushes, but the handles are a VERY hard plastic and make a loud "clack" sound against the rim of the snare drum or toms. Most brush handles are soft rubber, so there is virtually no noise if it hits the drum rim. I used these playing basic, sweeping jazz type patterns and any time I tried to do a subtle accent, a very loud "clack" would happen instead. Another thing that compounds this problem is that the handles are very short, much shorter than on traditional brushes. These would need to be taped with softer material like "stick grip" tape or athletic tape to lessen the very harsh "clack" sound, but what's the point of taping them? I would spend a little more and get some rubber coated brushes that won't have the very harsh clack that will result if you hit the rim. I have liked every Liberty One/Weiss branded product I have tried, but these just simply are a bad design.
