This series is without question the best value, simplest mallets you can buy. Not intended for really aggressive playing or marching applications, these are a simple, easy to use series that covers the full range of the instrument and a huge range of literature. The yellow mallets have a cutting tone for the upper register. They sound GREAT on older literature like Musser Etudes and some mid-1970s rep like Frogs by Abe. I would put these in particular up against MUCH more expensive mallets and have ended up using them on recording projects after a lot of A/B testing. They are VERY good at what they do.
