Tapas is a percussion ensemble work by Elyzabeth Meade. The title draws from the Sanskrit word Tapas meaning "fervor, heat, fire, and energy gained by devoting one's thoughts and actions toward a particular goal." The piece is organized in multiple sections, each distinguished by its own textural, harmonic, and emotional character. A solo voice part leads the ensemble, and the six percussionists are also required to use their voices throughout the work.
