Phantastic Phil is a beginning level solo by Jeffrey Parthun that is designed to make the connection between the way a roll is notated and the underlying rhythm of the roll (skeletal pulse). The solo works equally well using buzz rolls or open (rudimental rolls. Rim notes and stick clicks add a bit of flair to this very educational piece.
