Maric-Predicaments (SP)-V/M/P/PN

Predicaments by David Maric for solo percussion and piano consists of two 5 minute movements which are stylistically sharply contrasted. Movement 1 - Nomad, which is scored for marimba and cymbal, evokes a solitary journey across a barren land. Movement 2 - Deadlock, is scored for vibraphone plus an array of untuned percussion instruments and is full of high-energy repetitive tension. The two movements are linked only by simple harmonic features (such as key signature and piano chords).
