Definitely worth buying. If you crank it up high, and tape a piece of notebook wire on the bottom of the drum head, it will literally have the exact same buzz sound as a marching snare drum and it will sound like one without the buzz as well. Best thing ever bought! Highly recommend.
I love this drum! Its a great practice tool, and good for people who want those hybrid snare drums or db drum co drum without spending extra!
This is a great practice drum for students and educators! I bought this along with the SW-SKB and a concert snare stand to bring with me to drumline rehearsals at the school I teach at. Definitely a better alternative than transporting and carrying a full size snare. The volume works well against a smaller battery line. It does not have snare wires as listed in the description, but with the right tuning you can get a great high tension marching drum sound. I recommend this to all my students to for a real high tension feel and to avoid pad hands. I would recommend this to other educators for teaching implications as well.
This is a nice practice instrument that has a hi-tension head. It does NOT, however, have any snare options. So it is basically useless if you are hoping for a compact instrument with snares. For this price, just go with the Xymox instruments.
