Description

The purpose of this book is to provide interest for the students and teacher in the practice of Paradiddle; rudimental and swing styles are intermixed. In the many years that I taught the percussion instruments at the Eastman School of Music I always used the paradiddles as a medium of practice.

The first twelve exercises use the single paradiddle in conjunction with each of the series in the code index. Thereafter the groups are used in different combination.

Nice book with some great practice Paradiddle workouts as the facetious title implies. Works well with a practice pad, of which I use it for. I am a condo owner so do not presently own a drum kit or snare for that matter( s padded Djembe and hand percussion are my condo limits),but that is no deterrent as long as excellent books like this exist. One may wish to supplement this book with the seminal George Stone " Stick Control* which I have found work well together.

I was introduced to this gem of a book years ago by a former William Street student. I use it every day in my snare drum warm up routine and have bought copies for all my students. Twenty four pages of excellent paradiddle exercises. Highly recommended!
