Three Short Dances is a mallet ensemble arrangement of three dances by Flemish Renaissance composer Tielman Susato (c. 1500–c. 1562), arranged by Norman Weinberg and published by Southern Music Company. The source material is drawn from Susato's La Danserye (1551), a collection of 60 popular dances originally written for four instrumentalists. Weinberg's arrangement expands the texture for six mallet players, combining the bright articulation of the xylophone with the warm resonance of two vibraphones and three marimbas to create a rich, layered sound that suits the rhythmic, dance-driven character of the original music. It is part of a broader series of Renaissance keyboard and ensemble works arranged by Weinberg for mallet ensemble.
