Description
Album for the Young Suite, Op. 39 is an arrangement of selections from Tchaikovsky's beloved 1878 piano collection, arranged for five-player mallet ensemble by Ruth Jeanne. Originally conceived by Tchaikovsky as a set of charming miniatures for young pianists, the pieces translate naturally to mallet instruments, with their lyrical melodies and clear phrase structures sitting comfortably across the varied timbres of xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, and orchestra bells. The arrangement gives each player a distinct instrumental role while maintaining the accessible, musical character of the original. Score and individual parts are included.
