I own two of this model and used one of them for many years. It works smoothly, reliably and has a nice rebound without a lot of push back from a too-heavy spring. I play heel down, so I can't speak to other techniques, but this is worth every penny (and more) and it is light and easy to stick in the hardware bag without taking up much room. Every time I put it on the drum, it feels and plays exactly the same. I replaced the nylon belt once, but used a DW nylon strap, which works perfectly, as it seems difficult to find a Yamaha replacement belt.

I like this pedal a lot. It is light weight, quiet and responsive. Just what I was looking for!
