Promark System Blue Jim Wunderlich JW5 Hard Marimba Mallets are light and easily maneuverable mallet in the high register for quick, articulate or colorful passages. This model features a hard synthetic core wrapped tightly with an extra durable polyester cord on a 15" birch shaft. The JW5 is the hardest mallet in the Jim Wunderlich signature series.
Pro-Mark is proud to have Jim Wunderlich as an endorser and signature artist. His nine model System Blue mallet series are not for marching percussion alone. While they were designed to have durable components for outdoor environments, the lush tone of these mallets is an appropriate and tasteful choice for indoor concert settings.
Very well-constructed mallets, but they are painfully hard--they're like hard Xylo mallets! So unless you're looking to suck the resonance out in order to achieve otherworldly articulation, look somewhere else. These are VERY specific in utility.
